MOW DAY & TIME

1

Rooney crews work Tuesday through Friday, 7am to dusk. Saturdays are reserved in case of rain. The crews follow the same route every week; however, as we add customers, the time of day may change.   Our crews work until dusk, so don’t worry if they haven’t arrived by 5pm.

WILL MY SERVICE BE DELAYED IF IT RAINS?
1

If the rain is light, crews will continue to work their regular schedule.  If wet conditions require crews to return to the yard, your service will be delayed until the next day or rescheduled when weather conditions permit.

WHAT HOLIDAYS WILL AFFECT MY SERVICE?

1

Rooney Landscape observes Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving.  During the normal maintenance season, our crews will not be working on these days.

While we understand that many of our customers look forward to entertaining on these days, we will try to ensure that the properties are at least mowed.  Whenever possible, we try and honor requests for extra sprucing or adjusting your Specialty visit prior to a party.  Please give at least 2-3 weeks notice.

HOW WILL I BE BILLED?
1

Clients are invoiced on either the 1st or 15th of the month.  Late payments may be assessed a Late Fee of 1.5% monthly (18% annually).  Continued payments in arrears will result in immediate termination of service.

DOES ROONEY ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS?
1

YES.  Rooney is accepting Visa, Mastercard and American Express.   Should you choose this option, a statement confirming the transaction will be mailed to you each month.

WHAT HAPPENS IF MY CREDIT CARD IS DECLINED?

We understand that cards are lost, changed, stolen, and sometimes are declined.  Rooney will make at least two attempts to process your credit card prior to placing a call to the customer to arrange for other means of payment.

WHAT IS THE BEST WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH ROONEY?

1

Clients can always call our offices at: 847-577-0246, Monday – Fridays, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Any one of our staff will be happy to assist you.  As an alternative, feel free to click on our web site directory to send a quick email to the appropriate Rooney employee.

WHAT IS ROONEY’S POLICY IF MY PROPERTY IS DAMAGED BY A CREW?

Please report any damage immediately to the office so a representative can assess the damage.  Rooney Landscape will do everything reasonably possible to repair the damage.

WHAT IS ROONEY’S PROCEDURE FOR HANDLING COMPLAINTS?
1

Complaints will be called in or emailed to Rooney Landscape.  Your issue will be forwarded to the appropriate Account Manager or department for resolution.

GATES AND PETS
1

Please notify your Account Manager or our Production Coordinator with any special instructions that must be passed onto crews, such as location of invisible dog fences.  These instructions will be placed in crew work orders in English and Spanish.

IF DROUGHT CONDITIONS OCCUR, HOW WILL THIS AFFECT MY SERVICE?

If drought conditions prevent regular mowing, our crews are instructed to provide those clients with FULL SERVICE MAINTENANCE, other horticultural services, such as weeding, for the same amount of time allotted for mowing.

For example, if based on lot size, your property takes only 18 minutes to mow;  that is the amount of time allotted for weeding, pruning or deadheading of perennials.

HOW MANY FERTILIZATIONS AND WEED CONTROL APPLICATIONS WILL I RECEIVE?
There are four (4) fertilizations with the first including a pre-emergent for crabgrass; and two (2) weed control applications.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE GRUBS?
1

Grubs are immature beetles that burrow into the turf areas to lay eggs.  When these eggs hatch, they begin to eat the roots of the turf. If brown patches appear and the grass can easily be pulled up in sheets, then grubs are probably present in the soil and already doing damage to your turf.  Grubs eat the roots of the grass

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO TREAT GRUBS?

The best time to treat grubs is before you notice the brown patches and they do damage.  A granular application in July is the best time to kill grubs, before they mature.  If this is not possible, then please contact your Account Manager to confirm diagnosis and arrange for treatment.  Please be aware that, while the turf can be treated after the grubs appear, this is an ongoing problem that should be addressed each year. Rooney Landscape can provide you with a cost to have the turf repaired with seed or sod.

HOW WILL I KNOW IF I HAVE INSECT PROBLEMS?
If you notice problems with holes or brown spots on shrub or tree leaves, a black sticky substance on your Magnolias or crabapples, these may be signs of insect infestation.  Please contact your Account Manager immediately.  They can diagnosis the problem and recommend solutions for treatment.

HOW SOON AFTER FERTILIZATION CAN MY DOG GO ON THE GRASS?
1

With a liquid application, you should wait until it dries or at least a couple of hours, before letting your dog back on the grass.

IS THERE A FEE?
1

Yes.  The fee is set by the designer.  Depending on the scope of the project, it can run from $500 to $1000.  The fee is due upon acceptance of the design by the client.  The design fee will be credited back to the client against the cost of the job of $2500 or more.

Yes. You will receive a call from the Production Department and/or Designer when work is to begin.

WILL I EXPERIENCE ANY DELAYS?
