Hardscapes
* We use a compactor that most do not. It delivers 7,870 lbs of centrifugal force whereas the majority only use a machine that provides 3,375 lbs of centrifugal force. That means, our base is compacted over 2 times greater than our so called competitors. This is necessary for harsh Chicago winters.

* We compact our base in 2 inch lifts which gives our foundation the necessary engineering to endure harsh Chicago winters. (example: for a standard sidewalk/patio application we will compact the entire surface-area 3 times...do other landscapers do this? Most likely the answer is no.)
* Our miter cuts are uniform to provide a perfect looking, flowing and "true" radius as if it were manufactured.
* We guarantee all paver work for as long as we are in business.
Bed Preparation
* We remove all clay based soil
* We remove all debris (roots, rocks, etc.)
* Install soil amendments comprised of leaf-mulch, manure, and mushroom compost
* We till the soil amendments along with your existing soil which provides a harmonious plant medium which allows plants to thrive for years to come.
* Bed area is properly drained before work is done
* When preparing beds along foundations, we pitch all water away from structure and we do not exceed the height of the foundation. This is crucial because most water issues in your home are due to grade-settling around your foundation.
* We install state of the art drown spout drain tile systems to ensure roof water is directed away from the house and planting beds.

* Rooney will only use top quality plants, trees and shrubs. We are pickier then our customers. If you don't believe us, ask our nurseries.
Design Crew
* We never have anyone from our lawn crew install landscaping. We have trained landscaping professionals working on your project.
* We provide professional 2D blueprints drawn by an expert landscape designer and yours to keep. This working drawing is the "road map" that sets scope and is essential to guarantee that what was discussed is then implemented.
* Your landscaping job is assigned a landscape project manager to oversee the project. This give the homeowner a single "point of contact" so no communication is lost.
